New Traffic Scheme around St Stephens green

I drive from Coombe, Kevin Steet, Stephens green to Merrion road as part of my 1 hour commute every day. Today for the first time I've come across the details of the new traffic layout that kicks in on Monday. It is the most ridiculous scheme, addiing what I estimate to be another 30 mins to my journey (I travel at non peak hours). The portion I really can't make sense of is that York steet is not open for traffic going to the green.

Anyone else enraged by this?
