Hello

I had invested 25K in New Ireland Trilogy 11S9, during the boom time, however this dropped by over 10k during the recession. It is currently at 20k, but I got a letter advising me that the future investment approach is that the fund will no longer borrow in order to increase its exposure to property.
It advises that the fund is still classified as High Risk (which I was not aware of) , should I hold on until I recoup my losses?
Many thanks

That fund turned out to be a disaster. Even the bond element was rubbish when a load of their holdings turned out to be worthless.

Do you keep it or not? That's the million dollar question. How long will you have to stay in that fund for it to recover? What if you switched to another fund? Would it make back those losses quicker? Unfortunately, with valuations a lot higher than before, it's not a great time to jump ship.
