New House Keys - amount?

Hi, we're about to close on our new house. Does anybody know is there a set amount of keys that you are supposed to get for each door of the house - 2 copies, 3 copies?? thanks

I think we just got one set and had to get copies made ourselves. Ask your solicitor?

What ever about the internal doors which are just basic keys, you should change the external locks when you get the house. It just takes a screwdriver and seconds to change a modern EURO lock.

Rather than changing the locks I would just add a 5 lever mortice deadlock to the front door if necessary/applicable. And add bolt locks at opposing corners to any patio doors. If the doors are PVC then they may already have the necessary locks.

Hi - we just closed our house purchase and collected our keys today. I nearly died laughing when I saw the big bunch the foreman handed me..but apparently lots of the keys (about 40 of them!) are for the windows and patio doors!
For the front door, we got 3 copies.
