quick update on this - ive been working on enhancing the site in the last few weeks.
one gap a few touched on was day-to-day cover (gp, physio, consultant etc) - it was basically a yes/no on whether a plan covered it or not. ive now gone each plan and pulled 19 separate data points just for day-to-day (the %, the €-per-visit cap, and the annual visit limit, across gp, nurse, consultant, physio, radiology, plus minor injury clinic). that's now properly factored into the score instead of a rough flag.
ive also added a scenario builder called "Total Health Costs" (https://www.medplan.ie/total-healthcare-costs) - you put in what a realistic year looks like for you (gp visits, hospital nights, procedures) and it works out the actual total cost - premium + whatever isnt covered - across every plan on the market, cheapest first. it also makes it easy to see where a lower premium with a higher excess/shortfall actually starts costing you more than a lower-excess plan, once you cross a certain number of nights or claims and also what effect the day-to-day benefits have on your annual health costs.
data extraction piece is more advanced so the plan data accuracy should be much better than before.
still in beta, would love more feedback like the last round - it was genuinely useful
