New career ideas at age 60!

I stopped working to be a full-time stay at home parent. Despite having small kids at home to keep somewhat busy, I absolutely hated it.
That's because parenting is a full time 24/8
7/365 job and work is effectively a tea break from parenting...
But even travelling becomes sort of routine when you do it too often I find.
Then you're doing it incorrectly.

I got up some days at 5 to do my work before parenting. Not really a tea break! Still working until 9 pm most week days. My kids are older and certainly leave me have my coffee alone, I still need some kind of outlet.

Just my experience. Having travel extensively around Europe in the past decade, it can become routine when you start going abroad every six weeks, visiting different places. While traveling fill a lot of my life and I organise trips as much as I can, only doing that is not enough for me.

Would going back to college full-time be an option at 60+ ??
Or would the idea of sitting in a class-room full of early 20-somethings be just too 'awkward' !

Activelink are a good source of community or charity based jobs, a lot which are part-time.

We had three older women in their 60s in our BCL in UCD back in my day. They had the best of fun and were great craic. We all liked them a lot, although I don’t think we fully appreciated how amazing they were to be taking on a degree in law at the time. Hopefully by the time you’re 60 awkward is just a state of mind and wouldn’t cause you a second thought. College could be a really enriching and great experience and if you can afford to do it, why not?
