Is it unusual in a new build to have no water tank in attic space?
Its a dormer type building and the water is pumped from a well
Do I need a water tank?

was talking to a plumber yesterday and he said not necessarily...!!!

can just pump water directly from well.....only downside is no water if ESB gone but upside is no worries about tanks leaking in attics etc

in a pumped situation its generally a good idea to have a small attic tank that can provide 12-24 hr toilet water... in case of electric blackout

our new build has no tank in the attic (we have no attic space!) but it's a pressurised system and we have a 170 litre tank in the boiler house @ ground floor level. we're on mains water, not a well.

you really need a tank, that is why they are called storage tanks, you need a back up ,you will be hopping over to your neighbours for a shower ,using their stored water
