I'm getting chain emails from people who are on a committee I recently joined. Worse, nobody seems to be aware of the "BCC" facility, therefore my email address (along with the other lucky recipients) is appearing in places I wouldn't like it to. I've already had to stop using a previous email address as I was getting over 99% horrible spam and don't want this happening again.
I can't block the senders as I need to be able to send and receive emails to and from these people, and they are nice - just a bit uninformed! I don't know them particularly well and don't want to hurt any feelings, is there a diplomatic way of sorting my problem? I was wondering about putting a signature in my own emails to the effect of "no chain emails, & if you're including me in a bunch of emails then put my addy in BCC" - more nicely phrased though
Or is that using a sledgehammer to crack a nut?
