NCT: "Brake Test" Imbalance on rear axle of 60%

Got my car NCTed and it failed on "Brake Test" Imbalance on rear axle of 60%.

What is the best way to get this rectified? Do mechanics have the equipment to check that any imbalance has been fixed? What about the 'quick fit' type operators are they any good?

Imbalance refers to relative efficiency of the brakes.

The answer is to overhaul the rear brakes. Fit new pads, drums, seals or whatever is needed.

Usually not a massive job.
