Basically an additional one third of the original premium.

Anyone familiar with this plan and could suggest a more cost effective alternate?

Instead of renewing, I could cancel and just buy it new, and save about 70 euro.

Really?

Have policy holders just become accustomed to massive premium increases?

There's a new health insurer, "Level Health", slightly more competitive premiums?

I read there's some issues using the app.

Level Health don't have a particularly in depth website, seems they have a "low/medium/high" level series of care plans only, like they're trying to keep things simple?

Laya mentioned I could simply cancel my current plan then take out the same one, new, and available of the 10% discount.

I should stay within the 13 week period of being without an active plan to avoid the pre-existing clause......... which seems like a way I could make up for the massive 33% premium increase by skipping a couple months, knowing I could re-activate it any time and not actually lose cover, provided I stay within the 13 weeks.........

Just for reference:

Compared to Laya Signify,

Irish Life plans, MyPlan150, BenefitAccess300 and Benefit2,

Coming in from 91 euro a month.

And Level Health Plan B 300, slightly cheaper again at 1060 a year.

VHI have a quote:

FirstCare 250 Day-to-Day, at €84.25 per Month, €1,011.04 Total

And Irish life:

Monthy payment: €79.38
Annual payment: €952.60
Plan name: MyPlan 500

9 weeks into the 13 weeks renewal window.

Decision time.

Level health plan B looks the most simple and cost effective.

If anyone has any further updates on this level of cover, I'm open to suggestion.

One issue with Level Health being, some aspects of the plan are subject to excess, but doesn't clarify what this is, per admission, per night etc?

I guess I'll just get in contact with them tomorrow.

So it's a 300 euro excess flat?

Not per night or anything.

It seems it is but just to be certain.

Is anyone here with Level health, and is it mostly okay?
I understand there were some issues with their app, but that aside?

Plan B at 300 euro excess, comparing to Laya Signify it seems good.

Anyone weigh in on that plan in general?
