When the Late Late had Frank McNamara, the former resident pianist on the show, and his young son on playing a piano duet a couple of weeks ago, it was a bit much to take as a licence payer. It is nearly as bad as the regular habit of using fellow RTE staffers as guests, such as last week when what's his name from Nationwide was given the chance to introduce his new wife to the nation. Don't get me started on the Charlie Bird documentaries. There's no shortage of good bands, singers and musicians out there who could be showcased and given a break.
