Mojacar Playa is in Costa Almería on the eastern coast of Andalucía and on the Mediterranean. It is a fine resort an particularly suited to families. I used to live there. You can fly into Almeria or Murcia airports and Ryanair fly there from Dublin and Shannon. Majorca is an island (one of the Balearics) and is a totally different place.

Not quite, quinnine was taken daily as a preventative against malaria; it tastes horrible hence the idea of mixing it with Gin - thus giving rise to Gin & Tonic (medication).

How about a cruise? Absolutely no chance of mosquitoes at sea. Got badly bitten in Fuertaventura, Lanzarote and Tunisia.

I found the repellent REPEL 100 excellent if you do happen to encounter mosquitos. Highest deet content I ve seen and apparently used by the US armed forces...
