Moving from self-employment to employee

Hi there. I was wondering if losses incurred during self-employment can be offset against PAYE? I've ran a business for over two years and incurred losses in both years. I've been offered a job and its quite a tempting offer! If anyone can answer my question I'd be very appreciative.
 
Losses incurred in the current year can be set sideways against other income.

Losses brought forward can only be set against profits from the same trade.
