Hi there,

I moved aborad to another EU country in February. I continued to work on Irish contracts from abroad and invoiced through my Irish company.

As such I continued to pay tax in Ireland. As of this month I have taken up employment in new country.

1. Do I need to inform revenue about this?
2. Am I entitled to any tax back or tax exemptions etc?
3. I plan to rent my Irish house out. Is there anything I need to consider here?

4. Finally do I need to pay any tax on money I earned while living abroad but paying tax in new country?

I have moved to Ireland from another EU member state

1. I have never informed my local revenue about this. I just left my job, came to Ireland and registered for PPSN.

2. You might be entitled to some returns. There are professional tax companies that can check it for you. Some of them will check it for you free of charge.

4. I have never paid any taxes anywhere but Ireland. Double taxation is banned in the EU plus your public health insurance from one country covers all of the EU (coverage package depends upon local laws but basic stuff like accidents is usually covered).

I suggest getting a European Health Insurance Card before you leave. You can get it free of charge from your local HSE. It covers traveler's basic health insurance across Europe.
