Most efficient way to receive a salary for a non-resident

I'm a resident of Portugal as of earlier in the year. I am on the 10 year Non-Habitual Residency program which entitles me to tax-free foreign income for the 10 years. I am being hired by any Irish company and I'm wondering what's the most tax efficient way for me to do this?

Do I or employer pay PAYE/PRSI/USC on this income? Would it be better to receive it as a contractor and self report in Portugal? I have to self report the income in Portugal anyway but I will not pay tax on it.

Thanks a lot

This is from Revenue. So can they just pay me the gross salary and keep records of it?

Non-resident employees recruited and working abroad
You do not need to apply for an Exclusion Order, or operate PAYE, for a non-resident employee who:
  • is not resident in Ireland for income tax purposes
  • was recruited abroad
  • carries out all the duties of their employment abroad
  • is not a director of your company
  • has no Income Tax liability in Ireland.
"You do not need to include the employee on your payroll submission. You should keep a record of any payments you make to the employee."
