most annoying ad on tv?

So, a question for you - have you ever purchased something, specifically based on an ad you have seen on TV ?
Good question, throwing my mind back, I have not. Seems to be a dreadful waste of marketing money when they should be targeted to core potential consumers. Like using a shotgun to shoot a pheasant from a mile away.

And although I ike Keano's ads where he's just being himself, I certainly wouldn't rush out to buy one. I would consider the dog in one ad though.

No big ticket items, maybe some supermarket stuff, a new Nivea cosmetic or Cillit Bang-type cleaning product .
Pay more attention to what's in the supermarket offers email \ catalogues though.

I find adverts online really annoying. I am less likely to buy a product that causes me to wait before watching a YouTube video etc. The delay makes me hostile to the product that was advertised. Irrational I know but that's just the way I am.

Many people would likely say no, we all prefer to think we're not swayed by their hidden messaging planting ideas of brand quality, but studies show they are still effective. Traditionally studies have relied on aggregating full market data and suggested a 5-7x return on advertising spend, a really detailed study using LG Smart TV viewing (they report back on second-by-second viewing) and purchase data shows that the 5-7x return is overstated by 55%, but TV advertising is effective.

Hello my brother from another mother!!!

I'm the same, so much so I now pay for YT Premium so as to skip these ads but what's starting to irk me more is the content creators are now doing in video advertisements, yes some of them are for products they use and or related to the content they provide but others are not!!

Two home style reno type creators I watch started this, one did a ad for a electronic face mask to help her skin after a dirty days work renovating her Italian villa, the other did an ad for an exoskeleton body system that helps her with her daily chores around her Irish Homestead

Both times I instantly stopped watching, irrational yes but more so I hate product placement and false advertisement

I pay for YouTube premium - think it's €13 per month but well worth it as it's my favourite TV station!

To answer the question about most annoying TV ads - two come to mind: those shouty OTT ads for Flash dusters, as if they're mankind's greatest creation - and that effing, "man from Geneva" coming to fix silly daddy's car ad.

I don't mind ads at all because I go and put the kettle on when they come on. Or comb my hair or walk around the house....there is always a way to avoid them.

This is the downside of watching the BBC channels. No ad breaks means a big rush whether it's refreshing the coffee, letting the dog in or out, spying on the neighbours, checking other channels, etc. An auld ad break has its uses sometimes.

Not really annoying but I find the most memorable adds are for products I can't recall?!
I still find myself singing along to old adds.
So I'm gonna throw in the odd question here, basically fill in the blank, for the more mature poster....
Number one is an easy starter....' Yes, yes, yes with the ?, Can I, will I save with success? With the ?, yes, yes, with the ?.

My weapon of choice is the Apple TV Remote which has of course got a pause button, but from memory it works everywhere except the BBCs.I must check later - RTE now, Netherlands vs. Japan.
