Should my sibling be making their solicitor aware of this fact to negotiate the ex partner's equity share in the house?

Ex partners Solicitor if they are any good will not agree foregoing child Maintenance in lieu of house settelment,
This was an old trick that often got played years ago sign over the house and I will not seek Child Maintenance,
When the house settlement is out of the way go back for Child Maintenance
Child Maintenance is for the Child not the primary carer,

i see you are going to mediation I Would try and agree as much as possible in Mediation including looking for ex partner to give up some equity in the house,
I am a little out of touch on how agreements are made now , In the old days you often seen ex partner leaving agree to take there name off the house and leave mortgage as is,
Not a good deal for the Ex partner because they are still on the hook if the mortgage defaults not to mention they will not be able to ever get a new mortgage until your siblings mortgage is paid,
Is there any chance they may take there name off the house for a fee and leave mortgage as is,

@bkenn14 - I'm not sure if the ex partner will agree to anything. One minute they're agreeing to things and the next they aren't. Unfortunately my sibling has to go the court route as they haven't followed through on any of the promises they've made up to now.
