Mortgage with another bank

Hi,

I have been banking with Ulster bank my whole life, about 30 years. I will shortly be looking to get my first mortgage. A work collegue has recently moved all his accounts (current a\c, savings a\c etc...) from AIB to PTSB. But his mortgage is still with AIB.

This got me thinking is it better to have your mortgage with another bank that does not basically know your financial banking history and will not know nothing about you except your future mortgage payments ??

Have you something to hide? Preferably, I would like a bank that knows my history that can work with me based upon it.
