Mortgage redeemed: How to get deeds.

Hello,
I am a NI based homewner who completed on my mortgage in July of 2008. Can anyone advise if i should automatically receive the deeds to my home or should i chase the solictior or indeed mortgage company(Nationwide) for these? Will there be a fee to get the deeds? When i do receive them what is the best way to store/keep them?

The lender should contact you about this. Their interest in the property will need to be removed from the deeds before they are yours alone. They will normally do this for a small fee or you may be able to take the deeds and do this yourself at the Land Registry (or NI equivalent). Once you have the deeds you need to keep them safely - the lender may offer this service, or at your bank for safe keeping or a solicitor etc.
