Joint buyers who are not married can claim two sets on individual mortgage interest relief. The first time buyer (first 7 years of mortgage) rate is €4,000 p.a. at 20% = €800 or €66.67 p.m. So €133.33 for joint buyers. There is no relief of €800 (or x 2 = €1,600) @ 20%.
