Hi all I"m new to all this & need some advice.
My husband & I recently separated & are finding things very hard at the moment. His hours have been cut & money is tight . Our house (like many) is for sale but not a bite yet.
How do I go about taking a mortgage break for a bit until hopefully our circumstances get better.
Cheers

If your repayment history has been good so far, i.e. all repayments paid exactly on time, you should be able to get a mortgage break of three to six months, depending on your lender and assuming you're not on a fixed rate. You can just contact your lender and they'll either send you out a form or ask you to visit a branch.

There's a lot more stories of people being refused repayment breaks unless they have or are about to default.
Have you any equity in the house? could you reduce the price further to get a quick sale and just get shot of the house?
