Monitor or TV?

Folks,
I have a computer in the Kids play area that needs replacement. Currently there is no Play Station in the house but that could change by Christmas. I am wondering what is the best solution - A TV with a PC input or a Monitor that will accommodate a Play Station. All thoughts & Suggestions welcome.

Big flat screen monitors are cheaper than their TV equivalent. They don't have a tuner but with a PC hooked up and a TV card, it'll work as one anyway.

Not as portable as a TV on it's own though. You'd need to decide if anyone really watches TV in there. They don't at the moment, presumably.
