money order, travellers check or bank wire transfer?

Hi, I need to pay a €500 deposit on an apartment in New York for a short term stay in a couple of months. The leasing agency will only accept a money order, travellers check or bank wire transfer. Does anyone know the easiest way to go ? Would an AIB Irish bank draft be OK to send over if I got it made out in dollars ?

Sounds like I would go the travel cheque or money order way.
I think some people have been ripped of by wire tranfers although i'm not sure, Unless you trust the agency i'd use a money order because i'ts not linked to a bank account, it's just a one off payment in a PO.
Being from Ireland and buying overseas if the agency is fake they will be going by the ''niive foreigner'' trick but its up to you.

If I were you I'd send a bank draft. The draft should be in US$ though & not in Euro ! Can't see the sense in sending a Euro draft to America. A draft will cost you about €3.80 plus the postage. Wiring €500 will prob cost you about €10.

Travellers chqs are messy .......but maybe that's just me
