I know at one stage there was a requirement to have a modern language among your six subjects that you use to get your points total in the Leaving Certificate. Is that still there, I have looked at UCD's website but I cannot see any reference to it, does anyone out there know?

Thanks

Christy

According to [broken link removed]there's a requirement for an Ordinary Level pass (D3) in a language (other than Irish and English) for most UCD courses.

Trinity College require a pass in a language other than English (which can be Irish once not at foundation level) in order to gain admission to the University (according to their student handbook available on the website).

It's normally a requirement of matriculation for all the NUI colleges; see [broken link removed]. Certain [broken link removed] apply.

UL and DCU require Irish or another language.

Thanks for the prompt replies, it is for my young lad, he will be delighted that Engineering doesn't require a language as that is what he is hoping to do.
