You really need to listen to what people are telling you and contact the airline and ask them. Just because they might take the scooter off you at the gate and gently place it in the hold doesn't mean that the ground handling staff on the other side will bring it to the aircraft doors when you land. Airlines need to arrange assistance in advance for their passengers. You really need to talk to the airlines and see what they say about the scooter or if you will have to arrange wheelchairs through them.

Or you could write an old fashioned letter.
Lots of options for somebody who actually wants to get an answer to the question of what their policies are in terms of handling mobility scooters.

Most if not all will have dedicated numbers for mobility assistance issues. If you plan on bringing a mobility scooter you have no alternative but to phone that number to ensure the correct supports are flagged in the system. If you don't flag that need well in advance you can be refused.
