I am looking for info on the minimum wage.Can someone please tell me is there a minimum wage in each of the EU countries.My daughter tried to get student Summer work in Berlin but gave up after 3.5 weeks. On speaking to German friends of ours they told me there is no minimum wage in Berlin. Can this be true ? They said to us why do think all the Polish workers are coming to Ireland? Is Ireland,s minimum wage on par with other EU countries that have it?

I doubt that most immigrants (Polish or otherwise) are necessarily on the minimum wage.
There is no minimum wage in Germany.
There is some debate about it but the German government is in no hurry to bring it in. They are talking of having different minimum wages for different industries.
However, a lot of jobs in Germany have industry-wide wage agreements. Unions are probably stronger than in the English-speaking world.
Berlin is a nice city for a weekend but unemployment there is 15 or 20%. The population structure is older - Dublin is very young and vibrant by comparison.

yeah arent a lot of workers in the 'hospitality' industry only on minimum wages ?
