Minimising thermal bridging with a corner window

We are having our windows installed next week. We have a number of corner windows, and used pressed steel lintels in this area of the house. Therefore in the corner where the window units meet there is an 80mm steel box iron holding up the lintel (and the corner of the house!!).

Can anyone suggest ways of insulating this support to minimise thermal bridging at this point?

Would it be a good/bad idea to drill a few holes in it and fill with expanding foam? Or is there a good product that I could rap the pole in??

Thanks

You really need to be talking to an engineer before you start drilling holes in your structural steel.

What kind of insulation did the architect specify?

We didn't get architect to spec the insulation.

Engineer says he has no problem with us drilling the steel.
