mildew on roller blind

There is mildew on both sides of roller blind (3 years old)
in bedroon even though it only reaches about an inch above
window sill when pulled down. Blind on window in next room facing same direction
but no mildew on that. Windows are aluminium and double glazed
albeit about 30 years old . Would it help to leave blind up at night
and just pull curtains or any ideas would help greatly as really cannot
replace blind or windows. The blind does not touch the glass or frames
and cannot make out what the problem is ????
