Hi everyone,

I'm edging closer to 40 and starting to think seriously about where I’m at in my career—maybe it’s the classic midlife crisis kicking in!

I’ve been reading through the Money Makeover section and have noticed that quite a few posters around my age are earning €100k+ annually, which is both inspiring and a bit eye-opening.

If you're in that income bracket (or higher), I’d really appreciate if you could share:
  1. What profession or industry you're in
  2. What kind of education or training helped you get there
And (if you’re willing), whether your path was straightforward or involved a career change.

I'm considering a possible pivot myself and would love to learn from others’ experiences.

Thanks in advance!

Lecturers in the IoT / TU sector reach about 105k, that is top of the normal scale.

They have ten weeks leave from 20-June to 1-Sep.

I have always thought it's a nice wage in Athlone, Carlow, Dundalk, Tralee, etc.

It used to be that a Masters was required.

However, these days, as they have become TUs, they are looking for recruits to be doing PhD.

Be careful about whom you compare yourself with.

I have seen enormous wealth and wondered why someone as talented and energetic as myself doesn't have the same wealth.

but then I realised that I am better off than most.

It you only look up, you will be disappointed.
