Fair point and not one I have considered, you just automatically assume it's for the needs of the airport.Remember MetroLink will also allow for future development. It could, for example, support a town of say 100,000 north of Swords
Probably one of the easiest places to get a bus. The people I hear having issues are further up the road. From Fairview into town
Airport will be origin or destination of only 20% of projected Metrolink passengers.Fair point and not one I have considered
Major airports, dealing with more than 12 million passengers annually, will have to be connected by long-distance rail
Which the customer ultimately pays for.Michael O’Leary doesn’t want a rail link as it will lead to higher landing fees at DUB and more cost for Ryan Air.
At the time it was one of the easiest places to watch buses drive past.Probably one of the easiest places to get a bus.
I live in Dublin and find it very livable. I go from Churchtown to Glasnevin each day for work. The commute is 25-30 minutes in the morning and 35-40 minutes in the evening by car and 35 minutes each way by bicycle. I could get the LUAS but that takes an hour to an hour and a quarter.Hopefully once its built further lines will be added to make Dublin city actually livable.
The dream. The commute is 25-30 minutes in the morning
I specifically said it was awful. Better than it's been in the last 30 years isn't the same as good. Just not so nighmarishly awful as it used to be.You and @BIG-notorious are the first people I have heard in the last couple of years to say you are happy with the service.
That's a savage commute. Is that 5 days a week?The dream.
1.5 hours door to door in the morning
2 hours plus in the evening
Maybe the Metro might be built before the train in Navan and then I can use it for part of my journey instead!
Thankfully only once a week but for how long who knows. That's a savage commute. Is that 5 days a week?
I can't believe Dublin still hasn't made much progress towards building metro lines (not just a single one to the airport).
If you've spent any time in a city with them - you'd know how big of a quality of life improvement it is.
Indeed. 1 of the best. He's the Roy Keane of his field
