I got the following email today, purportedly from the National Lottery.

Restrictions to Advance Play / Multi-Draw facilities online

To facilitate the upgrade of our technology, we will need to temporarily limit the ability to play in advance for our Lotto, EuroMillions and Daily Million draws online. Please click here to see how these restrictions will be phased in over the coming weeks.

This looks like it is a genune message. I saw the same message in one of the national newspapers.

The National Lottery are rolling out new machines and a new range of games at the end of this month. So I guess players wont be able to buy multi draws over this period

The content of the email references a true story but the link in the email I received looks suspicious, it was not for loterry.ie but a .com address, I deleted without following to be safe.
