Medical Insurance Relief

Hi,
I'm looking for some clarification on the tax credits that I can claim. I get my VHI (plan B) insurance fully paid by my employer. However I have just noticed on my tax credit notice for this year that the credits I get for it are incorrect (75.80) and it has been for several years (just woke up and realised this). The current cost for this option from 1st Sept 2005 to 1st Sept 2006 was €680.66 Gross and less 20% is €544.53 Net.

How are the tax credits calculated on this considering the tax credits are for the calender year and VHI premium changes always come into effect on the 1st September?

Can I claim back for the last 4 years if there was an error?

Thanks,
Ger

You can backdate claims for this relief by up to 4 years as normal if applicable.
