Medical card - J2 PRSI Class

Hi, if I am currently working and paying Class A PRSI and have just recieved a Medical card and can switch to J2 PRSI Class, am I right in saying that I am no longer entitled to Jobseekers Benefit, Maternity or Illness Benefit if the need arises?
Searching for info on Citizens advice and Goverment sites but its not really clear what the disadvantages to having a medical card are.

Reading a bit more and I think I should switch to A2 PRSI class. Am I right, and if so, will I still be entitled to social welfare benefits if need arises?

Yes - Also you dont have to Pay the Income Levy, assuming if is a full medical card.

So, is there no disadvantages to switching from A1 class to A2 - less benefit entitlement or anything else I am not aware of?
