Medical card and PRSI

My understanding was that holders of medical cards are exempt from paying PRSI. However, the only thing I have found online to support this is a summary of PRSI classes for the year 2014 in which it was noted that medical card holders were considered to be Class M and exempt from paying PRSI.

It appears that this no longer applies. Can anyone confirm (or otherwise) and, if so, do you know when the change took place?

That confirms what I thought. Is this something that changed since you got the medical card, or did you only get it recently?

There is a reduced rate of USC for holders of full medical cards , not GP visit cards. See revenue site
