Mechanical v Manfacturing Engineering

Hi All
In need of some views on the above title.

Have just finished a ord degree in Manufacturing Engineering.

Next step is the Higher Degree (Another 3 years.)

Not sure what to do the mechanical or the manufacturing, the main diff seems to be in Mechanical Eng , fluids and Mechanical Design and the manufacturing has Manfacturing Process and Management practices 1,2,3and 4.

The manufacturing seems to lead more towards Management.

Any comments would be welcomed .

amazing the frustation " can convey.

I work with a number of " project Enginners" most of whom have a mechanical enginnering background. The have to be pretty all rounded, project managment, research, supervision, drawing, cad, as well as savvy re costs, tenders, contractors, safety etc.

The are mostly contractors, young and indeed a number are continuing their studies while working. Pay seems to be 25-35 an hour rising with experience.

To do six years study and not be happy seems risky.

Why not use the next 2 years to work, travel, get experience, and then review?

I have been working for the last 13 years and am in my late 30's so i just want to get my degree finished.It will take 3 years to finish at a rate of one day per week.
I had hoped the college would have provided us with some guide.

I would opt for the qualification that offers the most management focus as management skills are useful in other sectors of the economy.
