Mechanic - Callout in Dublin?

My VW Passat is not starting and is currently parked in the basement of our apartment in D1.

The oil warning indicator has been flashing of late and it seems to have been burning oil. The engine won't turn over at all now.

I suspect the car may need major work and if this is the case it may not be economical to carry it out.

I could call a recovery service but, having done a cursory inspection, they will more than likely tow the car to a garage. I would then have to tow it back.

Therefore, are there any mechanics that will come to your home and have a look at the car there? Can anyone recommend one?

Have you comprehensive cover on the car? If so, you might have a 'roadside assist' add-on. Phone them and they will attend within an hour or so. If they can't fix, then don't bother getting the tow to the garage.
