MBNA Cheques

I have been trying to cancel these cheques that are constantly being sent out to me, (I have never used them)....everytime I ring the Customer service I am told "yes I can see from your file that you have requested that these cheques are to be cancelled I'll look into it" but this has been going on for almost a year. I must have nearly 50 cheques stacked at home at this stage.....

what if anything can I do...I have finally threatened that if it did not stop I would cancel my account, but I really don't want the hassle of changing all my online shopping accounts, etc

Also I remember that when the change over from Punts to € you could bring back unused cheques to reclaim some duty ?? does this also apply to credit card cheques ...
 
Do they charge you for the cheques even though unused ? As far as I recall they didn't charge for these so I would just bin them or send them back.
 
Shred them. That's what I do with mine.

Who pays the stamp duty on these cheques ?

I thought the duty was payable on issue - does MBNA pay the duty itself ?

I've never been charged for them. So, MBNA must be paying the duty.
