This may have been dealt with previous thread. I'm married with one child, both my wife and I work and both earn more that the standard rate cutoff. In relation to notifiying revenue of or marriage status, is there any benefit to be taxed as couple or seperately?

the main benefit arises because joint assessment allows for either person's unused tax credits to be transferred to the other person and not wasted. In your case you both use all your tax credits each though so none get wasted.

thats what i thought but then was second guessing myself in case i was missing something else.
