Hi Guys,
I've recently started working in Ireland after working in the UK for a few years.
My wife is from the UK and we got married there while we both lived there.
I'm PAYE and registered for myaccount with revenue, it seems like I am being taxed as a single person despite being married with a wife not working + a 6 month old daughter.
I tried to add a tax credit for my wife but the only options I get under the family section are:
Dependent relative tax credit
Incapacitated child tax credit
Relief for maintenance payments
Single person child carer credit
Tuition fees
Should I be entitled to claim a tax credit for my wife/dependent child?
Also, if it matters the child was born in the UK - my wife got a public services card about 3 months ago and we were told at the time that our "accounts" would be linked as we are married (and had to produce a marriage cert) but I'm not sure what "account" that is?
Thanks for reading!
