Market value reduction

I went to close down a capital guaranteed fund I have been in for 6 years and they have come back and are applying a market value reduction of just under 11K. Do I have any comeback here?
This fund even in the good times returned very little, it has another 4 years to run, but I reckon it will return b*gger all in that time. Should I just cut my losses or is there another option?

A market value is applied if a policy is surrendered early to protect those remaining in the fund. If the policy remains invested for the entire term then the adjustment would not be applied so you woud get the gross value back plus the fund could possibly recover over the next 4 years and you make a profit.

Really it depends on whether you need the money now or can wait until the maturity date.
