Looking to buy a Car from North

Im looking to buy a second hand car form the north as they seem to be alot cheaper than the cars here. I know that there is a exchange difference. but is there anything else I should know about as Im probably going to buy from a garage.
 
Don't forget the NCT either! I brought in a car from up north which had just passed it's MOT and got a nasty surpise when I attended my NCT. It cost me 650,- euro to get the work done (suspension, brakes and wheel bearings) plus 1xNCT + 1xRetest + hassle.

NCT: 48.40
NCT Retest 27.20
