Looking For Info On A Poem

I'm trying to track down a poem I read somewhere in the past few months - I have a notion I saw it in a newspaper.

Unfortunately I have neither a name, an author or a complete line. All I remember is a line about a hungry stray cat, looking hopefully, but fearfully at a doorstep. There may have been something about light shining on the step.

I know this is very vague, but does it jog anyone's memory ?

I didn't find it there, but found lots of other nice stuff. The search will just have to go on !
