Thanks. It's about 0.5km from the Luas station, but the Luas line runs along the back of it. I'll be looking at the house on Saturday so will probably see what it sounds like then. The luas is relatively quiet so personally I'd pick a better garden and put up with the noise. Are you also going to be close to the station? I live beside the dart and I don't even notice it anymore.
Thanks a mil.I have an East facing garden. It is about 60' long. We have lovely sun in the morning close to the house. During the day as the sun moves southwards there is a shadow thrown on the house end of the garden but plenty of sun toward the bottom half of the garden.
At the height of the summer I will have sun at the end of the garden until about 6.30 in the evening. At that time the shadow from the house extends all the way to the end.
Thanks LeoYou can use on online tool such as this one to calculate the length of the shadow cast on various days of the year based on your location. An 8m ridge height around Dundrum will cast a ~30m long shadow from the ridge point at 7pm in the middle of June...longer at any other time.
Spend a bit of time modelling the layout of that street and you will be able to determine how much direct sun you'll get through the gaps between the houses. You might be lucky and get a nice evening sun-trap.
