Hi
I’ve been a UK tax resident since Nov 2010 when I moved to London.
I only worked in Ireland and Australia prior to this - never in UK
Am I entitled to buy back years 2006-2010 in these circumstances?
Many thanks

I would think (but don't know) it will depend on when your national insurance number was issued to you.

If it was only in 2010 when you moved to London then my educated guess is you'll only be eligible for 2010 onwards.

But if you leave the UK during your future working life be sure to apply to pay from then on (if I'm right).

If you registered for your NI number before 6th April 2010, you should also have three years free credits.

7.1 The Government has decided that awards of starting credits should be stopped from 6 April 2010 but existing awards will remain in place. Starting credits are awarded for the tax years in which a person attains the age of 16, 17 and 18, up to the level needed to make it a qualifying year that counts towards entitlement on a claim for basic State Pension and Bereavement Benefits.
