Living in ROI, working in NI - tax implications

Hi all,

For almost 3 years I have been a resident in Ireland. I live, work and pay my taxes here.
On January I am going to start my new job in Northern Ireland, but I will still live in ROI (my wife will still work here, my son will still attend primary school in ROI).
My question – what might be the implications of this regarding my taxes?
Essentially personal taxes in NI are little bit higher than in ROI – can I avoid it?

Thanks in advance

There is a tax agreement between the UK and Irish authorities.
You can find details on the revenue commissioners website.

In general, you will end up paying the higher of the two income taxes, as far as I know.
