Living in Ireland, getting paid in UK

Hi all,

Perhaps you can help me figure out my situation.

I've been offered a remote job in UK and I intend to work and live most of the time in Ireland( I will be spending around 40 days in UK only).

I'm quite confused about my tax situation. I've been told that if I will spend most of the time in Ireland I will have to pay taxes in Ireland, but at the same time, the company I will be working for, asked me to fill in the HMRC form to include me on the UK payroll. It makes me think that I will have to pay my taxes twice in both countries. Is there a legal way around to pay the taxes only in one country? If so, could you, please advise on how I can do this and what would the next steps for me to follow?

Thanks in advance,

Uliana
