[broken link removed]still do lifetime tracker mortgages. (Other lenders advertise tracker mortgages but they just track the rate for two or three years and then roll over to SVR)

Lifetime tracker mortgages are standard across most countries in the EU. But tracking EURIBOR rather than ECB.
Finland and Spain are 2 that I'm familiar with - anything that isn't a fixed rate is tracking EURIBOR.
New lending rates in Spain start at about EURIBOR + 0.99%
 
Finland is about the same size and income level as Ireland.

I don't know their retail banking market but it would seem even at least as concentrated as Ireland.

I can only guess that the repossession framework is a lot tighter than ours.
