Hi All



Can anyone tell me is it still advisable to keep a one year lease for residential purposes to exactly one year to the day. Or do individuals have more rights if it goes over that period?.



I have read through the PRTB website and it seems that after six months, the tenants gain allot more rights. However a good contract should cover any possible problems.
 
..according to the PTRB rules, then the longer a tennancy in in place, the the longer the notice period the landlord needs to provide in order to have them leave...unlesss there are clear breeches of the contract. If you have a good tennant, troublefree & paying etc, then my understanding is that the PRTB rules take precedence over yoru contract in relation to termination.
