Hi,

I was made redundant last May (3rd may), and signed on the day within a few days of this. I was disbarred from any payments for 9 weeks due to my redundancy lump sum. My question is, if I became unemployed on the 4th of may, when does my entitlement to unemployment benefit expire ? As far as I am aware, it is payable for 9 months, so that would mean approx feb the 3rd/4th.

However, the 9 week disbarring period, does this not extend my end date by 9 weeks also ?
 
To maximise your benefit you shouldn't have signed for the first 9 weeks.
If you wait until the waiting period is up to commence the claim you can get the full 9 months.
Doesn't seem to be an official source for this though so you could ask at the SW office.
 
Thanks, looks like I'm too late so.

Am getting it converted to a stea, but it expires in Feb, meaning I only.get 6 months worth of payment/support for my 20 years of.taxes.
