Legal Fee

I moved into my new house over a month ago and all monies were confirmed and paid to the solicitor. Now it appears that the solicitor has taken a Legal fee for a sum of money directly from my current account - I have received no correspondance on the matter - Can he do this withour any correspondance?

Did you get a Section 68 letter from the solicitor at any stage? What did it say about payment of fees?

Are you sure it was the solicitor? What does your bank statement say?

I wonder about that, unless the OP signed a direct debit mandate how would the solicitor get access to the account?

I suspect perhaps its a bank legal fee for something perhaps their legal work on the mortgage.
