Leaving work voluntarily and JSB entitlement

Hi,

I left my job in July which I had been in for 2.5 years.
I left because I have an MA thesis due in at the end of Sept which I couldn't have done while still in my job due to long commute and stress from job.
I am aware of the 9 week suspension for claiming, however tomorrow I am going in to make my claim and have been told that I may not have to wait the full nine weeks.
My question is, will they consider me not available for work while I am finishing my thesis even though it is a part time course?

Any info appreciated.

Thanks.

The question of disqualification does not arise at this stage but are you now available for full-time work? Why are you claiming now as the thesis 9your original reason for giving up work) is not due til Sept? if a job presented itself tomorrow could you take it up? These are the questions that you have to answer.

Thanks for your response.
I am claiming now because I am available for full time work, however not a job with a 3.5 hr daily commute which I was doing.
Can I ask why you say that the question of disqualification does not arise at this stage?
